Meet Brandy
Welcome to Rubie Pearl Counseling!
We all need secure spaces where we can show up authentically. At Rubie Pearl, I hope that you will find the courage to expose all of it..... trauma, fear, anxiety, low-self-esteem, depression and any other hinderance to your growth. Whatever that is for you, we will make room for your healing to begin.
As a wife, mom, Air Force veteran and licensed mental health provider.... I understand the many aspects to one's life. Sometimes these aspects are difficult to manage. At Rubie Pearl Counseling, I will meet you where you are, walking alongside to assist with skills to understand your symptoms of anxiety and depression as well address the origin of these symptoms. We can also work to improve communication, boundary setting and strengthen relationships.
I specialize in working with women as they navigate careers, motherhood, grief, relationships stressors and health issues. Together we can unearth your sense of self worth, teach you to assert your needs, while learning to regulate your emotions and responses. As women, we have to stand in our Power!
As for my clinical experience, I have been in the mental health field for over 6 years, however I've had the opportunity to mentor and coach for many years. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. From there, I've become certified in Anger Management and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy. I am also certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator for my couples. And lastly, I am trained in Eye Movement Densensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) which is very helpful for my clients managing acute trauma, PTSD and complex trauma.
Most importantly, I am a wife and mother who loves Jesus. I love to cook, read and drink tea. From time to time, I enjoy long walks. My personal belief is that life is valuable and our time is to be cherished. Proverbs 31:10 says, "Her value is more precious than jewels and her worth is far above rubies or pearls." We must know our value, despite the circumstances of our story. I am honored to hold sacred spaces for my clients, walking alongside them on their journey with honor, purpose and courage.
Hope to see you in session!
